Exterior
Ford made the SHO more aerodynamic than the stock Taurus. This is also a visually pleasing feature. The paint is in fair condition, but still cleans up real well. The sun roof retracts and tilts. I replaced the Ford badges with Yamaha badges. I also replaced the fog lights that were broken with factory lights. The front windows are tinted 50% and the rest are 35%.
Issues The clear coat is pealing from the hood and rear passenger door. Since these pictures were taken, the hood has peeled alot. Though it does not affect performance, it is very noticeable but repaint is purely optional. There are some other spots that are very small and barely noticeable. There are the usual chips and scratches from this year vehicle.
The passenger side rear quarterpanel has rust blisters next to the gas cap. Though it did not show up in Carfax, I believe this area was damaged in the past. There is some bondo work in that area in the wheel well and may not have been sealed right. This area will need attention if you want to keep the looks up on this vehicle. There is also rust on the underside of the vehicle. Most near the edges. If you know someone that can do body work, it would be a plus. This is a task beyond my capability. Since I plan on getting another SHO, I can't justify paying for the repair on this car.
The left tailpipe hangs a little lower than the right. I bought a new hanger to attach the muffler to the car, but was not able to get it on. It is position, just not hooked to the muffler. I am using temporary hanger strapping to keep it up.
Currently, the mileage is at 147,500. Since it drives great, I am still driving this car on the week ends, so the mileage will increase a little bit as time goes on.
